Review of Match Point (2005) by Liz — 25 Jun 2011
A beautifully filmed Woody Allen classic. Though it is often without his humor and innocent charm, it constantly drips of his direction and class. The acting is above par, and constantly, refreshingly real. The plot, which is written in a fantastic form, never leaves a question to be asked.
The only problem I saw with the film was the feeling after viewing. It may have just been me, but I was not fully fulfilled after the film. Something was lacking. It was not what I wanted from an Allen film. I had not laughed once, and it felt uneasy. But, either way, it was a great film and deserves five stars out of five for form, content and production style-- the star I took off was simply a personal thing.
