Review of Master of the Flying Guillotine (1976) by David F — 15 May 2013
One armed swordsman Yu Wang directs and stars in "one of the finest tournament films ever made". He changed things up a bit, being a one armed boxer. The master of the flying guillotine is, of course, blind.
"A gem of its genre." Includes inspiration for Dhalsim's long arms and Woo's trademark birds. Hard to believe they call it an "ultimate edition" with so much strobe lighting and scratches.
"Snags the viewer's attention by lacing its martial-arts high jinks with a compelling weirdness.".
