Review of M*A*S*H (1970) by Noah R — 16 Mar 2008
The movie opens, and the familiar tune that you become accustomed to from the TV show starts to play. You think, wow, I didn't know this song had words, then you listen to the words, and realize the title of the song is "Suicide is Painless.
" This movie is going to be different, and it is, in a really great unexpected way. The humor is darker, zanier, and innuendo and sexual humor run rampant. One wouldn't realize that it was a war movie, except for the mangled bodies of the soldiers, which bring home the fact that war was hell, and sometimes the only way to deal with it is to revel in one of the most human of experiences, friendship and humor.
