Review of M*A*S*H (1970) by Jimmy M — 15 Mar 2010
A classic dark comedy satire on war(specifically vietnam) that was innovative for its use of overlapping dialogue. The film that made stars of Sutherland, Gould, Skerritt, Duvall and Altman. Nominated for best picture.
Almost all of its dialogue is improvised, ironically the screen writer was the only person to win an oscar for the film though none of his words were actually in the movie.
