Review of M*A*S*H (1970) by Blackity B — 09 May 2009
The film that launched the hugely popular TV show. Altman's movie is incredibly bold and fresh for its time. In fact, it's hard to imagine the impact this film must have had on the audiences of the time.
Altman also re-invented sound in film. Not to mention his desire to get away from "star vehicle" movies. His interest in ensemble casts began here. Personally speaking, MASH is a film that I admire more than I enjoy.
