Review of M*A*S*H (1970) by Thomas Q — 10 Mar 2015
Winner of the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay & nominated for 4 others including Best Picture, "M*A*S*H" introduced America a film (& eventual, successful TV series) about a dark humor tale of doctors & nurses stationed in Korea during the Korean War.
The acting was quirky & eccentric; the story was a good mix of comedy & even drama (the surgery scenes); & the direction by Robert Altman (nominated for Best Director) was bold & great for its time.
"M*A*S*H" truly is one of the best films of the 1970s & of all time - a real treat!
