Review of Masculin Féminin (1966) by Frances B — 05 Aug 2008
I don't know where to start, but every example of failed earnestness, every example of the attempt to live like in the perceived golden age (of film, of politics), every homage to the yé-yé girls, every desire to just be & be in love when the world throws you nothing but disappointment .
.. I love it when godard abandons all his pretentious/scholarly ideas on the state of the world to simply revel in the playful and absurd nature of life. because this is when he most gets his points across.
and lets his characters come alive. I LOVE THIS MOVIE! from every gun shot to every hand movement. every time I watch it I believe in film.
