Review of Masculin Féminin (1966) by Peter H — 18 Apr 2009
Godard conjures several different languages. Some are vulnerable, some violent. None of them is dominant. After watching this for the first time, I feel Godard bores through to the core of our modern existence.
By exposing all of our romantic and political bluster, he puts our simple humanity on full display. His analysis is as sharp in 2009 as it was in 1965. He is a humanist attempting to show us in all of our guises.
