Review of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) by Stevie K — 04 Dec 2008
Bad casting would be the biggest strike against this film. Robert Deniro as Frankenstein? Really? I didn't enjoy this film so much, and the incredably dreary and dark exterior worked, but helping the audience feel miserable with astetics only works if they are being entertained to begin with, like in Sweeny Todd.
