There were a lot of things to like about this film. Most notably I'd say Kenneth Branagh as Victor and Helena Bonham Carter. DeNiro's portrayal was okay. At times the film felt like a film, like sets rather than real locations.
The failure in my mind was in the overall direction and production, as well as editing. It could have been better. Branagh is a better actor than director. It got melodramatic, and a lot of the bigger issues, philosophical issues were glossed over.
The movie lacked ICONIC imagery.
