Review of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) by Paul G — 10 Dec 2009
Sadly underrated version of Mary Shelley´s 1818 novel, with everything which makes good Gothic film: classic monsters, luminous photography, lovely costumes and scenery, beautiful heroines and grand score.
Relationship between Victor (Kenneth Branagh) and his adopted sister Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter) may be too incestuous to scatological gorehounds of modern audience.
