Review of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) by Mike M — 23 Apr 2012
This movie wasn't as good as it should have been! Mary Shelly's Frankenstein at least had two goods about it, the first thing was Kenneth Branagh he directed the movie very well and he played the lead role of Dr.
Frankenstein incredibly well. The second thing was the creature, I really think the creature looked pretty cool and I think Robert De Niro played the creature really well. But now on the other hand this movie had some flaws, for instance this movie didn't follow the book directly, yes there are a few parts in this movie that are all in the book especially the ending scene but I wish they put more in it because the book is so damn good.
Another thing that I didn't really like about this movie was the acting performances, Kenneth Branagh and Robert De Niro were great in this movie but the rest of the cast was really annoying especially Helena Bonham Carter and Ian Holm and that really sucks because I'm a huge fan of both of those actors.
But anyways this movie was just okay as always I love Kenneth Branagh I think he's brillant at what he does but I don't think this movie is his best work. I suggest you go read the book instead of watching this movie because the book is way better and you will learn a lot from it.
