Review of Mary Reilly (1996) by Gregory W — 04 Sep 2008
I have yet to figure out why John Malkovich is in the class of actor that he is. He just always looks sleepy to me. And though the first time Julia Roberts opened her mouth with a really poor attempt at an Irish accent I choked on my drink, it did get better.
I enjoyed seeing her play this small, frail, conflicted creature. Her transformation was far more interesting than the Jekyll/Hyde one. Oh, except for the repulsing baby appendage birth thing. Shudder.
