Review of Mary Reilly (1996) by David A — 18 Apr 2010
This movie sounds like a really bad idea - observing the Jekyll & Hyde story unfold from a third persons perspective. And the story just does not work. The cast, however, which also should not work - defines the J&H genre.
John Malkovich should just have done a remake and played J&H because honest to God the part has never been done such justice. Roberts is fine but forgettable. Glenn Close is scene stealing as the Madame Mrs Farraday.
