Review of Mary Poppins (1964) by April S — 11 Jun 2013
A magical nanny brings a breath of fresh air in a turn of the century British household. A timeless family comedy and musical full of delightful charming surprises and excellent performances, like Dick van Dyke's turn as multiple character in the movie, or Julie Andrews, in her big screen debut, with her Oscar winning unforgettable performance as the titular character.
Classic fable like entertainment, this film is a pure delight and even features some note worthy effects and impressive sequences which effectively mix live action with animation.
