Review of Mary and Max (2009) by Jeff B — 19 Feb 2011
Wow. I wasn't really prepared for how uniquely funny and touching this movie is. It's really a great examination of loneliness through the eyes of someone who's yet to come to terms with the world and with someone who can never really do that.
Philip Seymour Hoffman's voice in this kind of reminded me of his characterization of Gust from "Charlie Wilson's War", but more funny and blunt. Eric Bana also did a terrific job with a stutter in his very small part here.
