Review of Mary and Max (2009) by Neto G — 04 Mar 2012
A more edgy animation. Mary and max is dark yet funny depressing yet sweet dreary yet beautiful. Mary and max is deals with many different tones dealing with depression friendship and many different tones that deal with life.
Mary is an 8year old Australian girl and max is an obeise 40 year old man with aspergers and what unfolds is a sweet and and unlikely friendship. Mary and max is an animation unlike anything else. It's a dark story with animation that gives it a quirky tone to it.
The claymation for it is just beautiful. From Mary's perspective the world is light and sweet and from mass perspective it's dreary and dark. Mary and max us an unexpected surprise.
