Review of Marvin's Room (1996) by John T — 28 Jan 2008
This movie just made my all time favorites list. It's a beautiful character study, with all performers in top form. The story touches on themes such as the care of invalid or ill family members, the loving caretakers, estranged sisters, a troubled kid with a self-absorbed single parent, all believably experiencing the changes that make good drama so interesting.
I cared about all the characters, even the Streep character in all her faults (at least eventually).
