Review of Marvin's Room (1996) by Tabitha M — 30 Mar 2010
I honestly expected more from this movie - I don't know why, I never usually expect much from anything that has DiCaprio in the credits (bar What's Eating Gilbert Grape, that's my one exception to the DiCaprio rule). I guess when a film brings together people like De Niro, Keaton and Streep I expect good things.
Performances were solid for most part- there were a few cringe moments were I didn't find the acting believable.
Plot was interesting and well-executed, however I felt they could've explored some of the themes further - it was as though, they were restrained somehow. I felt like many things in the plot were left unresolved at the end and that left me a little disappointed.
