A truly horrific film, I was on edge for the first 1/3 of the movie, jumping and fairly frightened. Then the film turned from scary movie, into a disturbing one. I couldn't help but notice the references to The Passion of Joan of Arc (a FANTASTIC French silent film), however I would have never thought to bring themes from that beautiful classic into a modern day French horror movie.
I think it worked; I was disturbed, and am left thinking about the ambiguous ending.
