Review of Marty (1955) by Daniel P — 14 Jul 2007
Such a sweet movie. If Ernest Borgnine can find love, anyone can.
Borgnine and Betsy Blair are great together. It's hard to begrudge Blair the role, given how great she is and the fact that she was blacklisted, but unlike her character (and Borgnine), she is attractive. I kind of wish just once they'd cast an actual unattractive woman in these roles. See also Being John Malokovich, The Hours, Monster, Ugly Betty, etc.
