I enjoyed the restrained performances here and felt that the film did a good job of illuminating some of the nuances of the indoctrination process, be it in a cult, dysfunctional family, relationship, etc.

Some of the elements covered were boundary confusion, dissociation, and impaired ability to understand appropriate interpersonal behavior.
