Wow, this was actually pretty good. Stop bringing in your preconceived notions into films. Judge it on what it is - This is not a horror movie. A dramatic period piece with psychological thriller elements, Marrowbone slowly, but consistently explains in heart breaking fashion how a family tragedy continues to haunt its victims.
It also shows how society shunned those in the same situation forcing the victims to deal with their demons on their own. A more than decent directorial debut for Sergio Sanchez. Need more movies like this from Spain.
