Review of Married Life (2008) by Dave C — 23 Sep 2008
This movie has a great cast, but be forewarned. What seems like an interesting movie is actually a long, drawn out commentary on relationships that essentially goes nowhere and is a real let down in the end. In fact, I would take that a step further and say that after I finished watching this film I genuinely felt like I was worse off for actually sitting through the whole thing. The fact it really has no point adds to the depressing and incredibly sadistic look at what marriage should be.
The only positive aspect of this film aside from it's wasted cast is that through all of that it remains weirdly addictive. For some reason you kind of want to see the ending, because you think the film has to go somewhere. But that just makes it that much more of a let down when it doesn't.
This one is slow, depressing, and not worth your while.
