Marley & Me is a good-natured drama but lacks in substance. This film is void of comedy and decent acting. In all honesty, this film is completely boring and uninteresting in the slightest. The dog is definitely the most prominent aspect of the film and so a cohesive plot is nowhere to be found.
The ending does become emotional but closely borders melodrama as we don't really experience the love for Marley as the characters do. Marley & Me's lack of engagement makes it dull and dreary experience to sit through.
