Review of Marley & Me (2008) by Rex A — 12 Nov 2013
The awww-look-at-the-widdle-puppy effect wears off pretty much instantly. The film tries to be good through tear-jerking rather than through having a good narrative and character development. It even fails at tear-jerking; sure, a dog dying is sad and all but the relationship between Marley and his owners feels a bit stale and thus I didn't really feel crushed when he died.
Maybe I'm just heartless, but it didn't elicit even a sniffle from me.
