Review of Mark of the Vampire (1935) by Tristan D — 20 Oct 2009
This remake of the lost silent film London After Midnight feels like little more than a rehash of Universal's Dracula with Barrymore playing the Van Helsing part. At least that's how it goes for the first 48 minutes.
The rest of the film radically changes direction in a twist ending that will probably upset most horror fans but it actually adds a lot of humour to the story and makes things far more interesting.
