Review of Maria Full of Grace (2004) by Matt J — 17 Feb 2008
This is a really powerful and beautiful movie (in style and pace). Moreno is a revelation in her first movie and the scenes in the plane are very unnerving (esp when you compare it to other "plane scenes" like United 93, et al). Writer/Director Joshua Maston has done a great job on only his 2nd feature.
Not attempting to describe the myriad of reasons why someone would attempt this, nor what happens afterwards, this does show the extents which mules have to go and some of the risks that they take. This is a film that should be watched by more people than it will be.
