Review of Maria Full of Grace (2004) by Anamika W — 28 Mar 2008
Its hard to believe this movie isnt a documentary. Its unbellished and restrained in way that makes it seem factual. And I think that is the point that the director is making ... this is based on a reality that is occuring right now.
The brilliance of the entourage (actors and directors) is that each character is nuanced a different way. Her sister is demanding but useless, the drug lord is understanding but suave, the don is helpful but directive.
All these side characters and the reality of Colombia come together to show us how she chooses to be a mule.
