Review of Margot at the Wedding (2007) by Sheron J — 10 Jun 2009
I found kidman's character to be insufferable in this film. you feel for everyone who has to deal with especially her poor son who she tries to tear down emotionally. she is successful and admired by her family and her husband but it is not enough because she is seriously damaged.
I love jennifer jason leigh and she is good in this film as one the more hopeful positive members of the group. this is a basically sad tale about a sad family. they try to be less dysfunctional but fail.
jack black is not doing anything new here. john tuturro is wasted as a talent in this film. I guess I didn't like the misery of the tale.
