Review of Marathon Man (1976) by Qhulk J — 25 Dec 2008
Superior adaptation by William Goldman from his excellent novel. Read the book and then watch this. Dustin Hoffman is perfectly cast as the everyman runner (his idol Abebe Bikila who won the 1960 Summer olympics marathon running barefoot) who's brother dies in his arms.
The fallout from this forces him to confront several people who's cruelty is way out of his league. How he deals with the situation is what makes the movie so great.
