Review of Marathon Man (1976) by Paul T — 02 Jan 2009
A great little thriller which should come with a warning... 'do not watch prior to a dental appointment'! Marathon Man begins like a jigsaw puzzle, with seemingly disconnected scenes taking place in various countries, then slowly coming together to form a very hazy picture in which nothing is what it seems and no-one is who they seem.
To figure the whole thing out, the audience is taken on a tension and terror filled ride along with Dustin Hoffman's central character, who must get to the bottom of all the subterfuge if he wishes to live.
Stylish cinematography, great locations and a strong score add to the surprise filled ride.
