The tense story and its brilliant casting make Marathon Man a complicated white-knuckler. Dustin Hoffman and Roy Scheider are very good, but Laurence Olivier's portrayal of a Nazi dentist is especially creepy.
If you finish Marathon Man without being afraid of your next dentist trip, there is something seriously wrong with you.
