Review of Mao’s Last Dancer (2009) by Peter H — 23 Oct 2009
Fantastic story, really giving an insight into some facets of Chinese society and politics of the 70's and 80's through the eyes of Li and his family. The family story is the most touching one, and the story of the parents pride in the sons achievment is the strongest of the many story lines in this movie.
On top of it, for a non-ballet person, it really showcases the amazing athleticism and skill of these top dancers.
