I imagine seeing this film on a plane, and being very familiar with the music in advance, both helped make this a reasonably moving experience. I normally don't have time for this sort of thing, but it's a politically-flavoured Cinderella story, and when viewed along those lines, the criticism of it is taking the whole thing a bit seriously.
