Review of Manic (2001) by David Q — 01 Sep 2007
Thinks it's more poignant than it actually is. it's been compared to "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by some but to me it seemed more like an indie "Girl, Interrupted".
the digital cinematography is terrible in this film and it seemed to draw way too much attention to itself. the performances is what redeems this film, with Don Cheadle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel proving that they're well above this material.
