Review of Manic (2001) by Brandon M — 22 May 2010
At first the hand-held cinematography was really difficult to focus on, but by the end it really became an integral part of the story. Bringing the emotions closer to the surface with an eerily uncomfortable effect.
It was intense in a not-too-intense sort of way. And well put together considering raw and grittiness of its style. I would not suggest this film to a "well adjusted" movie watcher. I feel as though only someone who's had a taste of mental/emotional illness could truly enjoy it.
