Review of Maniac (2012) by Karim G — 27 Oct 2014
A disturbing and well-acted psychological horror. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical after reading the plot synopsis before watching this film. It sounded interesting, but I just couldn't picture Elijah Wood in this type of role.
Much to my surprise, he really knocked it out of the park. It's an extremely creepy performance, brought to life using POV shots and an eerie soundtrack. Viewers looking for bloody kills won't be disappointed, because there's plenty of that present.
Maniac is a twisted and entertaining viewing experience.
