Review of Manhattan (1979) by Will B — 17 Sep 2009
For the opening sequence alone, this is one of my favorite movies, and the cinematography is gorgeous throughout. As a love letter to his city, it may be Woody Allen's definitive film. It's not as funny as Annie Hall, but it's even more sensitive and observant, and it's one of Allen's best achievements as a director as well as an actor.
