Review of Manhattan (1979) by Avi S — 30 Mar 2011
This is not only one of my all time favorite movies, but it is also my all.
Time favorite Woody Allen movie. Manhattan is without question one of.
The absolute gems in cinema and is a must see for every movie lover. To me what makes Manhattan so special is it's times less romanticism and the constant laughs and tears it is able to create as being shot in beautiful black and white. Also what makes Manhattan classic is it's complex characters, who all just want to love and be loved in return. It is a movie that everyone can identify with, as it is easy to see oneself in anyone of the characters in film. Manhattan is a movie about loss just as much as it is about love, as we see the characters fall in and out of love with each other. From the absolutely breath taking opening shots of Manhattan to when Issac is looking into Tracy's eyes, Manhattan never ceases to entertain and inspire, and that is what makes Manhattan a such mater piece.
