Review of Manhattan (1979) by M D — 26 Apr 2009
Iâ??ve not seen any large percentage of Allenâ??s films but this one has his name written all over it. Allen stars as a divorced and un-admittingly confused 42 year old dating a 17 year old in 1970â??s New York.
He spends of brief stint with his friendâ??s mistress, played by Diane Keaton, as they wander the city in conversation. The black and white works well for the panoramic skylines and scenes of single point lighting.
Pretty straight forward in delivery, the film centers mostly and hopes of sex and conversations of relationships and their point.
