Review of Manhattan (1979) by Lucas Y — 29 Jul 2009
Not only Woody Allen's best film, but his best performance as well. 'Manhattan' has got to be his passion project because you can smell the inspiration from miles away. The cinematography left me paralyzed in my couch. The best thing about Allen is people who aren't very familiar with him categorize him as a 'love story' guy, when in actuality he's totally a 'loss story' guy. Nobody pulls that off better than him.
Oh wait, I can't review a Woody Allen film without using the word neurotic. There we go.
