Review of Manhattan (1979) by Cody D — 12 Dec 2009
Shot in black and white, the cover scene of the movie shot off to the side of the Manhattan Bridge, is one of the most beautiful shots in film ever. At least that I've seen, and trust me, I've seen a lot of movies.
There is just an amazing starkness of shade. The dialogue is good, hitting a pathos I'm not used to in a Woody Allen film, especially one that is considered a comedy. A great film, one of my favorite Woody Allens.
