Review of Manhattan (1979) by Samuel H — 12 May 2014
How can you not fall in love with New York City after watching a movie like this! How can you not fall in love with its people? Or what about the music. "Manhattan" is a classic. There's no question about it.
You find yourself swept away as you fall in love with two things at once, the movie and the city. The plot and Manhattan itself. Woody Allen is so witty and brilliant. The movie is so reflective of the vulnerabilities in real love.
It's reflective of the fact that when you really love someone you love them with all of their flaws. You don't just love their good side, you love everything about them. In this case that involves a girl as well as a city.
An excellent, breathtaking, fantastic, musical, and classic tale of, well, Manhattan.
