Review of Manhattan (1979) by Tero H — 18 Oct 2012
How can one not fall in love with this Woody Allen masterpiece? Easily his most visually accomplished while maintaining his usual neurosis, charm and quirk. I've always been an incredibly big fan of his films and Manhattan undoubtedly tops the list.
The writing here is excellent and the performances are marvelous. Only Woody could making a 42 year old man dating a 17 year old girl appear not nearly as wrong or creepy as it should be. Manhattan is glorious cinema.
