The classic revenge story fueled by the unjustified LCD Jesus Freaks killing of Nicolas Cage's wife. The beginning is unbearably slow with synthesizers trying to drown out your thoughts of how bad the movie is.
This movie only gets good about an hour into it when everyone shuts up and Nicolas Cage starts killing everyone. There are a lot of random bits, lines and scenes that don't seem to add up to much of anything other than a reason to show Nicolas Cage going crazy.
The two stars earned are for the acting, set design, cinematography, and sound design. Don't expect to be emotional invested through the writing or directing. Good flick to drink or get high to though.
