Review of Manderlay (2005) by Synyster V — 24 Jul 2006
"MAM'S LAW".
.................................................................
Raw, thought provoking, incredible. The 2nd Movie in Lars von Trier's ""USA - Land of Opportunities" trilogy that more than lives up to Dogville's benchmark. Great performances once again all held together by john hurts storytelling. Bryce more than equals kidman's "Grace" and once again Grace proves to be a suerbly written character who you follow through a very dark tale of well meaning that slowly reveals a corrupt vile underbelly. This is the movie about rasicm that should have won an oscar and yet another example proving the heavy handed nature of "crash" is pure spectacle.
Honest, brutal, fearless enlightening and choosing to face a problem rather than highlighting the "sides" and who is to blame. A must see.
