Review of Manderlay (2005) by Aileen L — 07 Jul 2007
A few steps down from the emotional power that Dogville carried. I came away from the film feeling primarily disgusted by the director's presumptuousness rather than stunned (as Dogville left me). Lars von Trier stretched himself beyond his imaginative and provocative abilities this time, I'm afraid, on attempting to take on the beast that is racism in America.
