Review of Manchester by the Sea (2016) by Alex Z — 12 Feb 2017

The movie drags on. You have to wait until half the movie to realize why the star is acting like an idiot. While you become sympathetic at that point, it has ZERO redeeming quality. He is faced with a horrible accident and folds, then you wait for him to redeem himself when he is called to be guardian for his nephew and fails.

Its a stupid theme new movies have where there is no hero, they never redeem themselves, they fail and when given the chance to be a good guy, they fail again, then the movie ends.
