Review of Manchester by the Sea (2016) by Peter G — 26 Mar 2017

This film deserves 5 stars for the writing, cinematography, music score and Oscar worthy performance by Casey Affleck. Unlike other films or series that are driven by political motivations (Get Out) or feminism fantasy (Game of Thrones), this is a beautiful, dramatic story that is very real.

I simply loved it. Not since the film The Artist, has the central character been so compelling in his role. In an era when so much focus is on women warriors, unrealistic CGI based films and violent anti-heroes, it is nice to see a strong realistic life altering story.

I just wish Hollywood would take note and stop making politically correct, female warrior, unrealistic CGI garbage. Reviewers who panned this film are usually the same one who panned brilliant films such as Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy because they're impatient thrill seeking millenials who grew up playing video games and prefer the instant sugar rush of a derivative CGI film over a substantive story that unfolds like a great novel.
